First look into Scrolller Recommendations:
To provide our users with the content they love, Scrolller has been working on its content recommendation system. With this new feature, Scrolller will suggest to our users the content that might interest them. In order to make this system perfect, we need volunteer users that might want to try this new system and validate the suggestion produced by the system. It will allow us to fine-tune this system, to produce more accurate suggestions. Click on the image or GO HERE to signup for the first look in Scrolller's content recommendation system.
User Highlights
Our users share their love for scrolller by sharing their feedback about our service and by being open about their pain points. As a company with User-Driven Development Focus, we welcome this feedback and make sure to prioritize this.
User Feedback
This week's user highlight goes to "TAYLOR". The user feedback is as follows:
Well, now that old scrolller is no longer getting server support, I have no choice but to complain.
The new scrolller sucks ass.
That old one, it was so simple. You open it and you scroll. Want nature? Architecture? Go nuts. Put some hearts on subs you like, see more of that. Reset it. Block subs you don't like.
I don't know how to even use the new one. I've tried three times. It's too fucking complex. Why did you do this? You had a good thing going. This is garbage, I hate it. I don't like having two images scrolling along on each side. I don't like picking the subs in advance. I have literally no reason now to use scrolller over Reddit. You're just a worse Reddit, now. It fucking sucks. I'm angry.
Please restore the old scrolller. I'll check back every so often. You're gonna do what you're gonna do. But, like.. you didn't have to do all this extra work just to over-complicate and ruin the good thing you already had.
Scrolller's Action
"TAYLOR" We hear your frustration and can empathize with you about a lot of your complaints. You are a true original fan just like everyone on Scrolller team is. Our wish as a team is to bring that same level of ease with all of the new and old features a lot of our users love. Your issues are now on our priority list and we are brainstorming on how we can provide the same level of ease in the new Scrolller that our users enjoyed on the old scrolller.
Give us 3 months and let us prove to you we are super fans just like you. A lot of cool updates are already on their way that will make your scrollling experience much more enjoyable
If you would like to share any feature feedback and contributions, don't hesitate to let us know. We greatly appreciate you taking valuable time to offer us feedback and support us on this journey towards building Scrolller.

User Accounts Growth
Leaderboard Continues to Gain Love:
40,267 → 65,627
Leaderboard is gaining visibility and love from our users. Users are enjoying this new feature as they are now able to find and enjoy the hand-picked content in form of user-generated collections.
A good metric that shows that it is gaining attention is the number of views on the leaderboard that has clearly increased in the past week. For last week only 65,627 users discovered user-generated collections via a leaderboard.
To further polish the leaderboard user experience, we are making some small improvements in the UI of the leaderboard.
The Podium will now display the collection name as well as username. We believe the Collection name has more significant value and users might want to show that to users rather than their own user name on the podium.
User will now be able to see his own rank on the leaderboard in a highlight.
Leaderboard as Discovery Feature:
Two weeks ago, when we introduced a user-generated collection, we were getting a maximum of 15 likes on collections. That concludes, users were not aware of collections and it was harder for them to discover the collections of their interests. As soon as we launched the leaderboard we have seen a clear spike in the engagement with user-generated collections.
Since the launch of the leaderboard, we have been observing that a vast majority of our users are using this feature to discover user-generated collections.
The number of collections is increasing day by day and the top ones are getting more reach while the ones on the bottom are getting ignored by our users since it’s hard to scroll all the way to the bottom. To improve the visibility of the user-generated collections we are making the following updates on the leaderboard as we believe these updates will lay a ground for the future of Scrolller as a content creators platform.
Ability to sort the user-generated collections based on
Leaderboard position
Editors Pick
Alphabetical order on the title of collections
Group user-generated collections based on categories
Allowing users to pick featured images for their collections
Following are some early drafts that our Ui/Ux designer created. We still have not finalized them as we are brainstorming on what could be the best and easiest way for our users to discover user-generated collections. Please let us know in the comments what you think about these new designs.
Resolving Fragmentation Problem on Hosts:
Scrolller saw a massive decline in user account creation and our daily active users as the performance dropped. Since now our performance is back on mark, the user account creation rate is also stabilizing. We are also seeing an upward trend in the number of daily active users. Our development team now wants to take one step further and make the performance even better for our users. We found out that most of our servers were full up to brim and that caused a massive fragmentation of new data that was being added on daily basis to our storage.
Now, this fragmentation has caused the content load speed to slow down, increased memory utilization, and CPU usage spikes as scrolller are designed to serve the newer data first to its users. The team has started to offload the data to a faster server in a move to defragment the whole data. This will drastically reduce the content load time. We believe that this step will not only reduce the stress on our host servers but also will provide an even better Scrolller experience for our users.
User Experience Metrics
Scrolller team is fully focused on improving the website for our users. This can only be achieved by measuring and comparing important metrics with the past. This ensures consistent growth with the ability to track progress. Our team is working on improving scrolller every day.
This week our team focused on improving the hosting even further for our users. The impact on user experience metrics was almost instantaneous as we saw a significant drop in bounce rate and improvement in the average session duration of our users.
Last 7 Days in view:
During the last 7 days, we saw a significant improvement in our base metrics.
We are evaluating the results in the last 7 days compared to the previous period.
Avg. Session duration is increasing which suggests that improved performance has allowed the users to stay on-site longer. We are aiming for an average session duration of 15 minutes per user.
After an improvement in our performance, we saw a good improvement in bounce rate. The bounce rate dropped by 0.9% and is now steady at 15.7%. We are aiming to reduce the bounce rate down to 10% by year-end.
Average Favorites per user
With the leaderboard gaining attention, our users are feeling encouraged to share their own favorite collections. This caused a significant increase in users to favorite content on Scrolller.
This important metric will help us understand users’ engagement with the content. This will also help our content recommendation system to improve as it learns from our user’s favorite items.
This week 792,735 contents were favorited by 20,025 users. That makes ~40 favorites per user.
Last week 673,223 contents were favorited by 20,077 users. That makes ~34 favorites per user.
That makes a 17.64% increase in the average number of favorites per user this week compared to last week.
Metrics Under Investigation:
Most viewed pages
The average number of errors on page
The volume of new content added to Scrolller each day
Average time for the user to create an account
These necessary metrics are creating a nice base benchmark for our current user experience on Scrolller which will let us easily track the improvement by comparing the new values with them.
Please let us know what you think about these user metrics. If you have any metrics that might be a good measure of user experience, we would love to know more.
User Experience Issues - Resolved:
Leaderboard Popup triggering every time a user visits the page.
"Slow Down" issue on login while using Autofill / Password manager
Disable fetching content from hosts that are experiencing downtime.
Remove case sensitivity from the search on the categories page.

Every advertisement is linked with a unique google analytics label, so our team can provide you with a monthly report on impressions and clicks on your advertisement.
What is a campaign on Scrolller?
A campaign is an advertiser link that is linked with a creative. We display it on scrolller in form of native advertisements, that almost blend in with the content on Scrolller.
What format do we support for creatives?
You can send us the creatives in the following formats along with the URL:
Gifs
Videos in mp4 format
We also support JPG and PNG images, but we recommend gifs or videos as they convert better.
The dimension of these can be square or a vertical rectangle, as they are mobile-optimized for Scrolller. We also provide you with the ability to update your creatives for advertisement up to 4 times every month.
For further details on how you can advertise with Scrolller, please send us an email. We will clarify any questions that you have in mind.
Exclusive Features for Premium Users
Scrolller in now focused on providing exclusive features to our premium users. This will ensure that we are delivering them full value for every penny paid. The list of exclusive features is very long, but our team prioritized 3 main features that our premium users will be able to enjoy starting next week.
Download Content Button
Our users love content on Scrolller, and one of the queries that we get most from our users is how do we download the content that we love. To make things easier, our premium users will be able to download any content directly on their device in High Quality. The mockup on left represents what our premium users will be able to enjoy from next release on Scrolller. The controls will now be mobile optimized and right in place where a user can access them easily.
Custom Charge Codes for Premium Users
A vast majority of our users wants to join premium, but they fear that the charge will be reflected on the bank statement. Worry no more! as scrolller is now developing an exclusive feature where a user can select what charge they want to display in their bank statement. Want to show bread and milk instead of Scrolller? You will be able to do it with one click only from your account settings page. The mockup on right represents how it would like in user account.
Full Account Recovery in Incase of Deletion
Your account will now fully be protected with us. If you accidentally delete your account we will recover it for you. This feature is exclusive for our premium users only. For our free users, If they want to recover the account they would have to sign up for the premium first, or they can choose to continue without recovering any data for free. The mockup on right represents how it would like in the user account.
Pricing Updates for Premium Scrolller
The development of all of these new features, and faster hosting cost us a ton of money. Scrolller revenue is currently negative. In order to compensate for the costs, Scrolller is planning on increasing its per month subscription price to $2.98 and yearly subscription to $29.98. These pricing updates will be implemented from the month of December. All new users will be onboarded according to this new pricing. To accomodate our current users we will provide them with an offer to update their premium account to yearly on old price that is $20 only. If they don't accept this offer by the end of next month they will automatically be charged monthly according to new pricing update that is $2.98 per month.
Scrolller has made this critical decission after carefully analysing the costs to provide better experience to our users. This pricing update comes with a promise from Scrolller that we will be adding new features every 2 weeks for our users. This will allow us to hire additional resources for faster development of new features, Improved performance, Additional host servers that will allow our users to upload their own content and development of mobile applications (Android, IOS).
Please let us know in the comments, what you think about this increase in pricing of subscription of Scrolller.

Outreach Team Update
This week, our single-person-army outreach team keeps losing traffic & reach in the Facebook front while working on Twitter traffic, which luckily leads to a 55% increase coming from this platfo
The team established the goal to reach 10k people entering the Scrolller website per month coming from their work, once properly measured. So far, the NSFW Twitter front is being of great help to reach this objective.
Social Traffic Update:
Our overall traffic from social media has risen up for this week, this is because of two things: Our team's productive work on the Twitter front & Reddit users that are talking about Scrolller and sharing URLs, which is leading people to our website.
Total Social Sessions 11,888 → 16,396 (37,9% increase)
FB & TW Sessions 3,328 → 4,272 (28.3% increase)
Currently, the team lost a few days of work on the Facebook front but will fight back to start increasing engagements with users again.
NSFW Content
Last week, our outreach team started working with NSFW content & channels, to get people to know about trending content on our website and deliver it to other platforms.
As this showed promising results, the team started to make a much more frequent and daily posting here. The results are still impressive; we had another spike in Twitter traffic for this week.
Reddit, maybe?
Our outreach team keeps developing the tools needed to run tests on Reddit, to check if our content could be engaging to people on this platform; or if it exists the chance of opening a Scrolller subreddit, as some of our premium users suggested.
So far, the team considers:
Reddit has lots of NSFW communities
This could help them reach the traffic goal
It's important to try new methods to accomplish outreach

Until next time, happy scrollling!
I use scrolller as a new and fresh way to get content from reddit. I'm not here for a new "social media platform" I'm here to see scrolling pictures. I don't care to interact with anyone. so while your new features are costing you a ton of money they are providing exactly zero value for me. I've been receiving these Building Scrolller mails for some time now and IMO there has not been a single piece of good news to come out of it. It's all just doing the same thing any other media aggregate does: inflate themselves with useless features until its too much money and too much unnecessary extra stuff so no one wants it and they leave.
If the increase in price helps you guys deliver on more improvements then I'm fine with it. Luckily I can see that you guys are definitely up to some pretty great updates. Looking forward to see what the next 3 months brings.
